It is THAT Time again...

That would be school, beginning Monday. Somehow, my summer never got going this year. Not sure why, maybe the new kitchen, maybe weather, not sure. BUT-for all intents and purposes it is kaput.
Oh- Labor Day in two weeks!

Cape May

Seashore for 3 days, then up to the mountains. Working on organizing vacation now. VERY hot and humid here, up to 96 degrees today. Double UGH.
We have tons of tomatoes and have frozen many of them. Hope it works.

A Phillies Win + An Anniversary

It is our 32nd wedding anniversary today. The weather is actually similar to 32 yrs. ago, hazy, hot, and humid. We are going out for a simple dinner tonight, with the real celebration next week in Cape May. We also went to the Phillies/ Rockies game and the Phils won. We had never gone to a game on our anniv. before.
Enjoy your day everyone!

"Thunderstorm-Hopeful"

I do love thunderstorms; the really dark ones that stir up a lot of excitement. No. I don't want them to damage anything/anyone, but it seems the world is much cleaner afterwards. We are supposed to get some late this afternoon, but at 11 AM it's already clouding up.
My friend couldn't make it yesterday, so now I am left with a lot of crumb cake. Depending on how you look at that, it could be bad, it could be good.
I am probably heading into work shortly to do more organizing. Next week is a wash, as we're heading to Cape May. THAT is a good thing.
Have a great day all!

Crumb Cake Monday

My teaching partner is coming over for lunch, oops, I mean crumb cake tomorrow. She's bringing her two babies with her, so MAYBE we'll have time to chat. We definitely will have time for crumb cake. After many trials and tribulations I have perfected my recipe. To be clear: coffee cake is not crumb cake. What's the difference? Oh-the crumbs! The pure vastness/amount of crumbs, my dears. Indeed, therein lies the problem; how to bake the cake, without sacrificing the crumbs...

A Traditional Philadelphia-Area Summer's Day

Like a wet blanket, sort of suffocating. That, my friends, would have been today.
BUT-my summer contractual days are behind me-finished-over.
I will be going up to the mountains tomorrow, for the weekend, and plan on reading, knitting, chatting, and torturing my husband until he plays Scrabble with me. For some crazy reason, I like that game. Geeky, I know.

Decorating 101

I love to read so many posts about how others place/put items together, paint, furniture placement, etc. My own style is country-uncluttered, if that is possible. We just had our kitchen TOTALLY remodeled, down to the studs(MESSY!). I like it, but I am working toward that WOW factor. I may place some pics of it, and hope for some suggestions.
In other news, I have to go to an inservice the next 2 days. I dread them, because I don't like to sit, and I feel like I have to smile a lot( so I am not accused of being negative about whatever the newest "research based" ideas are). Oh happy day(s).
